Cooking with Gladewaves: Tuna Mac

Welcome to the first installment of Cooking with Gladewaves, where we make yummy dishes using items that can be found in our Big Red Box pantries. Today we are cooking tuna mac with only 3 fresh ingredients needed!

Ingredients from the pantry:

1 box of Mac n cheese

1 Can of tuna, drained

1 can of peas, drained

1 small bag of chips

Fresh ingredients:

1 onion, diced

6 tbsp butter

1/4 cup milk

Preheat oven to 375º

Bring 6 cups of water to boil and add pasta. Cook for 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a separate pot, add 2 tbsps of cooking oil and diced onions. Sauté over medium heat. When onions are translucent, add the can of drained tuna and the can of drained peas and continue stirring for several minutes.

Add cooked pasta to pot of onions, tuna and peas. Stir thoroughly.

Next, add 1/4 cup of milk and stir thoroughly. Add 4 tbsps butter and stir until melted and completely mixed. Transfer mixture to an oven safe dish.

Take the small bag of chips and crush thoroughly, then sprinkle crumbs evenly over the tuna mac.

Bake for 15 minutes at 375º and enjoy!
